Liverpool have reportedly been given the chance to sign highly rated AS Roma midfielder Neil El Aynaoui, who has caught the attention of scouts with his outstanding displays for Morocco at the World Cup.
The Reds have already been linked with Morocco youngster Ayyoub Bouaddi, but El Aynaoui is now emerging as another potential target. According to reports, intermediaries have approached several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, over the 25-year-old’s availability, with his representatives believing a summer transfer is possible if Roma receive a suitable offer.
El Aynaoui has impressed throughout the 2025/26 season, the Africa Cup of Nations, and the ongoing World Cup, where he produced a dominant midfield performance against the Netherlands. He outshone Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch, completing 135 passes at a remarkable 97% accuracy while also contributing defensively with tackles, interceptions, and clearances.
Although Liverpool are unlikely to base their interest on one standout match, his all-round performances are believed to have strengthened his reputation. His Serie A statistics also highlight his quality, ranking among the league’s best midfielders for interceptions, final-third ball recoveries, assists, passing accuracy, and long-ball distribution.
Valued at around £19 million, El Aynaoui could become a sought-after target if Roma decide to cash in. With Morocco still competing at the World Cup, Liverpool will likely continue monitoring his performances closely as the tournament progresses.
