Tottenham step up pursuit of major signing as Roberto De Zerbi looks to beat Arsenal to the deal.

After an impressive debut campaign with Bournemouth, Eli Junior Kroupi has emerged as one of Europe’s most sought-after young forwards.

The 20-year-old scored 13 Premier League goals in 33 appearances, finding the net 13 times in just 1,683 minutes of action. His performances have attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, while Barcelona have now entered the race.

Previous reports suggested Bournemouth’s €100 million valuation has not discouraged Arsenal or PSG, and fresh reports indicate Tottenham are also prepared to compete for the highly-rated French striker.

Barcelona are reportedly monitoring Kroupi as a backup option should they fail to sign Atlético Madrid star Julián Álvarez. The Spanish champions are unlikely to make a move unless that deal falls through.

Although Bournemouth have made it clear they do not want to sell, rival clubs believe the Cherries could still be persuaded by a significant offer.

Tottenham are said to be leading the chase, with manager Roberto De Zerbi strongly backing the move and urging the club to accelerate negotiations. Spurs are reportedly determined to outpace Arsenal and the other interested clubs in the race for Kroupi’s signature.

The striker remains under contract until 2030, with his market value estimated at around €70 million. Bournemouth are eager to keep him and are prepared to offer an improved contract, but the player’s own preference is expected to be decisive.

Kroupi is believed to be open to joining Barcelona, although that opportunity depends on the Catalan club abandoning their pursuit of Álvarez. Barcelona also recognise they would likely need to spend close to €100 million to compete with Tottenham and PSG.

The Spanish club reportedly believe PSG are already well stocked in attack, while Arsenal’s interest is not considered as urgent. If Kroupi pushes for a move away from Bournemouth this summer, Tottenham could be in the strongest position, especially with De Zerbi driving the transfer despite Spurs not having European football next season.
