Tottenham Hotspur have focused on strengthening their defence this summer, bringing in Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson to add experience and quality to Roberto De Zerbi’s squad.
The North London club now appears set to complete another deal, this time for a seasoned goalkeeper with almost 300 Premier League appearances to his name.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Martin Dubravka is on his way to Spurs, giving the move his trademark “Here we go” approval.
Tottenham have reportedly reached a full agreement with the 37-year-old goalkeeper, who will join as a free agent after leaving Burnley at the end of June. Dubravka is expected to provide experienced backup to Antonin Kinsky next season.
Writing on X, Romano stated that the deal has been finalised, with Dubravka set to become Spurs’ second-choice goalkeeper, while Guglielmo Vicario is expected to depart this summer.
De Zerbi’s decision to place his trust in Kinsky as first-choice goalkeeper carries some risk. The Czech shot-stopper impressed during the closing stages of last season, producing a series of crucial saves that helped Tottenham avoid serious trouble.
His performances earned widespread praise, and the club now appears ready to hand him the number-one role. However, with Kinsky yet to prove himself over the course of a full top-level campaign, only time will reveal whether Tottenham’s faith in the young goalkeeper is justified.
