Liverpool have been handed some encouraging team news ahead of their Carabao Cup meeting with Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.
Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that Sandro Tonali will miss the match after picking up a knock. The midfielder is therefore unavailable for the clash, giving Liverpool a potential advantage in the middle of the pitch.
The news comes at an important time for Liverpool, who will be looking to bounce back after their frustrating 0-0 Premier League draw with Fulham at Anfield. Spurs also failed to score in their goalless draw with Everton, extending their Premier League scoring drought to more than 400 minutes.
With Tonali ruled out, Liverpool supporters will hope Arne Slot’s side can take advantage of Tottenham’s weakened options and progress in the Carabao Cup.
The match is expected to provide another early test for both teams as they look to build momentum this season.
