PIERRE SAGE UNDER FIRE AFTER TOTTENHAM DEFEAT AS CRYSTAL PALACE SLIP INTO RELEGATION ZONE

Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage is facing mounting pressure after his side suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

The Eagles’ afternoon took a disastrous turn when Jean-Philippe Mateta was sent off in the 13th minute following a VAR review for a dangerous challenge on Micky van de Ven.

Despite being reduced to 10 men, Palace managed to frustrate Tottenham for much of the first half before Archie Gray broke the deadlock with a header from a Mohammed Kudus corner.

Jan Paul van Hecke then headed home Tottenham’s second goal to seal all three points for Roberto De Zerbi’s side.

The defeat marked Palace’s third consecutive Premier League loss, leaving them in the relegation zone and increasing speculation over Sage’s future.
