LIVERPOOL INJURY UPDATE: FRIMPONG FACES LENGTHY ABSENCE AS SZOBOSZLAI AVOIDs MAJOR SETBACK!

Liverpool have received mixed injury news ahead of their upcoming Champions League clash against Villarreal, with Jeremie Frimpong facing a significant spell on the sidelines while Dominik Szoboszlai is not expected to be out for long.

Jeremie Frimpong’s Injury Blow

Frimpong suffered a fresh muscle injury during Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Brentford on Saturday.

The Dutch defender came on as a half-time substitute but was forced off shortly afterwards after picking up the problem just minutes into his appearance.

Speaking about the situation, head coach Andoni Iraola admitted that Frimpong is unlikely to return before the November international break.

Although Liverpool will try to get him back as soon as possible, his recovery timeline remains uncertain. The club will have to wait for his condition to improve before determining when he can return to action.

His absence is another concern for Liverpool, particularly with Conor Bradley also unavailable until after the international break. This leaves the team with fewer natural right-back options for their upcoming fixtures.

Positive News on Dominik Szoboszlai

There is more encouraging news regarding Szoboszlai, who was also forced off during the Brentford match.

The Hungarian midfielder had only recently been working his way back from a hamstring problem and appeared to experience discomfort in the same area.

However, Iraola explained that the situation has not significantly worsened. Rather than suffering an entirely new injury, Szoboszlai is still dealing with the issue that affected him the previous week.

The Liverpool boss stressed that the midfielder needs more time and patience to recover fully, but suggested that he is not facing a lengthy absence.

Szoboszlai’s willingness to make himself available for the physically demanding Brentford encounter was also praised by his manager.

What This Means for Liverpool

Liverpool must now manage their squad carefully as they prepare for a demanding run of fixtures.

Frimpong’s expected absence creates another challenge at right-back, while Szoboszlai’s situation offers some hope that the midfielder could return sooner rather than later.

Liverpool will be hoping to avoid further injuries as they prepare to face Villarreal in the Champions League and Brighton in the Premier League.
