‘Big Proposal Incoming’ – Romano Shares Fresh Yan Diomande Update After Liverpool’s Opening Bid Is Rejected

Liverpool are preparing to return with an improved offer for Yan Diomande after RB Leipzig rejected their opening proposal, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Reports from The Athletic revealed that Liverpool were willing to put forward a package worth around €100 million (£86.8m) for the highly rated 19-year-old winger, improving on an earlier bid made during talks with the Bundesliga club. However, Leipzig remain determined to keep the Ivory Coast international and are reportedly working on a contract extension, with suggestions that only an offer exceeding €130 million (£112.8m) would persuade them to sell.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano insisted that Liverpool have no intention of walking away from the deal and are already planning another approach.

“Liverpool’s €100 million bid was rejected, but they will come back with a new offer,” Romano explained. “The club remains fully committed to negotiations and is doing everything possible to convince the player. Behind the scenes, Liverpool are working hard on the financial side of the deal and trying to secure Diomande’s approval.”

Romano added that Leipzig’s stance has not changed. The German side believe keeping the teenager is the best option, offering him a new contract and improved wages before allowing him to reassess his future next summer after another season of Champions League football.

Despite Leipzig’s resistance, Liverpool are expected to intensify their efforts.

“Liverpool will be very aggressive,” Romano continued. “They are preparing a bid worth more than €100 million in an attempt to change the situation. They are also working on contract terms and salary details with the player. The club is pushing hard to make this transfer happen.”

Liverpool currently appear to be leading the race for Diomande, especially as rivals Paris Saint-Germain have yet to submit a formal offer. Nevertheless, Leipzig’s position has been strengthened by the youngster’s impressive performances at the World Cup, where he has further enhanced his growing reputation.

Any deal for Diomande is now expected to surpass the £100 million mark, and Liverpool may need to submit multiple bids before reaching Leipzig’s valuation. Much like their previous pursuits of Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, the Reds seem prepared for a lengthy negotiation process.

For now, there is little indication that Liverpool’s owners are ready to give up on the chase, with the club determined to do everything possible to secure one of Europe’s most sought-after young talents.
