Tottenham Star Ben Davies Hints at Surprising Career Move After Retirement

Tottenham Defender Ben Davies Eyes Potential Move Into Football Boardroom After Retirement

Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies has revealed that he could make an unusual career move after retiring from professional football, with a potential transition into a boardroom or executive role on his mind.

The 33-year-old has spent more than 12 years at Tottenham, making 366 appearances for the north London club. During that time, he has scored 12 goals and provided 26 assists, establishing himself as one of the club’s most experienced and dependable players.

Davies, who has earned 104 caps for Wales, has also started preparing for life beyond his playing career. The defender holds a degree in Business Management and has obtained his UEFA A coaching licence, giving him options both on and off the pitch.

In addition to his club commitments, the Welsh international has been appointed to the Football Association of Wales’ Council, where he has been involved in discussions about the future direction of Welsh football.

Despite considering his long-term future, Davies has no immediate plans to retire. He recently found the net in Tottenham’s Premier League victory over Coventry City under Roberto De Zerbi.

However, the experienced defender has made it clear that moving into football management or an executive position remains a possibility, particularly if the right opportunity presents itself.

Davies explained that he would like to explore the possibility of moving directly from playing football into a boardroom or front-office position, pointing out that relatively few former players have taken that route.

He believes his experience at the highest level of the game could provide valuable insight when important football decisions are being made.

The Tottenham veteran also stressed the importance of representing the players’ perspective through his involvement with the FAW, adding that he wants to help Welsh football maintain high standards and continue progressing in the years ahead.
