Carlo Ancelotti Reveals Why Alisson Missed Brazil’s November Call-Up

### Carlo Ancelotti Explains Why Alisson Was Left Out of Brazil’s November Squad

Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has revealed why Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker was excluded from the national team’s squad for the upcoming November international friendlies against Japan and Singapore.

The Italian manager recently announced his 26-man selection as Brazil continue rebuilding their squad following a disappointing 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign. His latest decision highlights the country’s growing commitment to developing younger players ahead of future international competitions.

Brazil will face Japan in Singapore on November 14 before taking on the host nation three days later. Ancelotti’s squad contains 15 players under the age of 23, with nine also eligible for the Olympic Games.

The manager explained that the coming period will be important for identifying talented youngsters and establishing a clear direction for the national team.

He believes Brazil should use 2027 to continue rebuilding before gradually settling on a more established squad when preparations for the 2028 Copa America and World Cup qualifying campaign begin.

Alisson’s absence was one of the biggest talking points following the announcement.

The Liverpool shot-stopper was not included in the 26-man squad, with Ancelotti instead selecting Bento, Lucas Perri and young Coritiba goalkeeper Pedro Morisco.

However, the decision has nothing to do with Alisson losing his position as Brazil’s first-choice goalkeeper.

Ancelotti made it clear that the experienced Liverpool star does not need to prove himself to the coaching staff because they already understand his quality.

The former Real Madrid manager praised Alisson, describing him as the best goalkeeper and confirming that he remains firmly in his plans.

He also indicated that Alisson will be recalled when Brazil begin their Copa America campaign, explaining that the current international window is an opportunity to assess other goalkeeping options and give younger players valuable experience.

This is also the second consecutive international break in which Alisson has missed out on a Brazil call-up, having been excluded from the previous September and October selections.

As a result, the 33-year-old will remain at Liverpool during the November international break rather than travel to Southeast Asia.

He is expected to return to the national team when Brazil resume their competitive international commitments.

Brazil’s 26-man squad for the November friendlies

* Goalkeepers: Bento, Lucas Perri, Pedro Morisco.

* Defenders: Arthur Dias, Carlos Augusto, Douglas Santos, Gabriel Magalhães, Jair Cunha, Jonathan Jesus, Vanderson, Vitor Reis, Wesley.

* Midfielders: André, Andrey Santos, Bruno Guimarães, Danilo, Gabriel Bontempo, João Gomes, Marlon Gomes.

Brazil will conclude their 2026 international schedule with matches against Japan on November 14 and Singapore on November 17.

The two fixtures will give Ancelotti another opportunity to assess his emerging talents while continuing preparations for Brazil’s next major international challenge.
