Tottenham Shift Focus to Record-Breaking Winger as New Target Emerges Ahead of Rafael Leao and Savinho

Tottenham Hotspur have stepped up their search for a new winger after completing six major signings this summer, with manager Roberto De Zerbi now targeting Paris Saint-Germain teenager Ibrahim Mbaye.

Spurs have already strengthened significantly with the arrivals of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, but the club remains eager to add more attacking quality. Interest in AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and Manchester City’s Savinho has already been established, with Leao reportedly open to a move and Milan willing to consider offers.

However, FootMercato reports that Tottenham are also keen on Mbaye, having been impressed by the 18-year-old’s pace, directness, and dynamic style. The Senegal international, who joined PSG in 2018, has enjoyed a rapid rise, winning two Ligue 1 titles and two Champions League trophies while also making headlines at the 2026 World Cup by becoming the youngest African goalscorer in the tournament’s history.

Despite Tottenham’s admiration, Aston Villa are currently considered the favourites to sign the winger. Unai Emery’s side, fresh from winning the Europa League and preparing for Champions League football, are believed to be leading the race.

Mbaye is reportedly eager to leave PSG in search of regular first-team football. With fierce competition for places in Paris following several expensive attacking arrivals, the teenager believes the time is right to continue his development elsewhere, despite being under contract until 2028.

The talented winger has already featured 42 times for PSG’s senior team, registering four goals and four assists, and is attracting growing interest as he weighs up the next step in his career.
