Liverpool are reportedly interested in Crystal Palace left-back Tyrick Mitchell as manager Andoni Iraola considers strengthening the left-back position. The report comes from journalist Ekrem Konur, who says Liverpool are monitoring the England international.
Mitchell, 27, has spent his entire senior career at Crystal Palace and has made around 249 appearances for the club. He is reportedly in the final year of his contract, meaning he could become a free agent next summer if he does not agree a new deal with Palace.
Liverpool’s interest is being linked to concerns over their left-back options. Milos Kerkez, signed from Bournemouth, has not yet consistently reached the level expected of him, according to the report. Meanwhile, Andy Robertson left Liverpool for Tottenham on a free transfer this summer, creating another reason for the club to consider strengthening that position.
Chelsea and Manchester United have also reportedly been linked with Mitchell, so Liverpool could face competition if they decide to pursue the defender. Palace are understood to want him to sign a new contract.
At this stage, there is no confirmed agreement or bid from Liverpool. The story is based on reported interest and could be a January or summer transfer possibility.
