Liverpool Agree £30m Curtis Jones Transfer to Inter Milan

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement with Inter Milan for the transfer of Curtis Jones.

Inter are set to pay around £30 million (€35m) for the 25-year-old midfielder, with the Italian club also reaching an agreement with the player. A medical is now being planned before the move can be completed.

Jones had attracted Inter’s interest throughout the summer, with their initial £21.7m offer rejected by Liverpool. However, with the midfielder entering the final year of his contract and reportedly keen on a move to Italy, Liverpool have now accepted the deal rather than risk losing him for nothing next summer.

The transfer would bring an end to Jones’ 16-year association with Liverpool, having progressed through the club’s academy and made more than 200 appearances for the Reds.

His departure will leave Andoni Iraola with fewer midfield options, but Liverpool appear to have decided that securing a £30m fee now is preferable to allowing the academy graduate to leave as a free agent in 2027.
