GOOD NEWS FOR TOTTENHAM! SPURS RECEIVE MAJOR INJURY BOOST AHEAD OF CHELSEA CLASH

Tottenham receive major injury boost ahead of crucial Chelsea clash

Tottenham Hotspur could receive a significant boost ahead of their highly anticipated London derby against Chelsea this weekend, with Pedro Porro pushing to return from injury.

Spurs have struggled to maintain a fully fit squad this season, with several players dealing with fitness problems. Although the club have yet to experience an injury crisis on the scale of previous campaigns, the repeated setbacks have continued to frustrate head coach Roberto De Zerbi.

Tottenham have already welcomed Dejan Kulusevski back after more than 500 days out of action, while Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons have also made progress in their recoveries from serious knee injuries.

However, further injury concerns have emerged in recent weeks, leaving De Zerbi with difficult decisions ahead of some important fixtures.

Destiny Udogie, Lucas Bergvall and Savio were unavailable for Monday’s Premier League match against Coventry City. Their absences forced the Tottenham manager to adjust his defensive setup for the game.

Spurs eventually secured a 3-1 victory over Coventry, recording their first Premier League win of the season. They must now turn their attention to Saturday’s difficult trip to Stamford Bridge, where they will face Chelsea.

Although most of Tottenham’s injured players are expected to remain unavailable, there is encouraging news regarding one important member of the squad.

Pedro Porro could return against Chelsea

Pedro Porro is working towards a possible return for Tottenham’s clash with Chelsea after spending time on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

The Spanish right-back has endured a frustrating start to the 2026/27 campaign, with several fitness problems limiting his involvement. Despite playing an important role for Spurs last season, he has managed only 224 minutes across all competitions this term.

Porro’s latest setback came during Tottenham’s 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa before the international break, when he was forced off just 19 minutes into the match.

The initial expectation was that the defender would be out for weeks rather than months. He also offered supporters some encouragement last Friday by sharing a video of himself training in the gym alongside the message, “Almost back.”

Although Porro was not included in Tottenham’s matchday squad for the Coventry game, there is renewed optimism that he could return when Spurs travel to Stamford Bridge.

His potential availability would be welcome news for De Zerbi, particularly after the manager chose to play without a conventional right-back against Coventry.

While that tactical adjustment helped Tottenham secure an important victory, relying on the same approach against Chelsea could prove much more difficult.

Having Porro available would give Spurs another attacking option down the right flank and provide greater balance to their defensive structure.

Tottenham will also hope to see Udogie return to action soon, as having both full-backs fit would strengthen their options on either side of the defence.

With the Chelsea derby approaching, Porro’s recovery could prove particularly important as Spurs prepare for another demanding test in the Premier League.
