Liverpool linked with potential Florian Wirtz–Michael Olise swap

Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz has been linked with a possible future move back to Germany, with Bayern Munich reportedly monitoring the situation. However, Bayern insider Christian Falk says there is currently no planned move for Wirtz.

Wirtz joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen for a reported fee of around £116 million in 2025. Despite a difficult spell adapting to the Premier League, Falk says he believes Wirtz is performing better than he did last season.

The interesting part is Michael Olise. Bayern want the French winger to remain at the club long term, but Falk says that if Olise eventually decides against extending his contract, Bayern could consider Wirtz as a potential target. A theoretical Olise-for-Wirtz swap could therefore be discussed in the future, although nothing is currently agreed or planned.

Falk also explained that Bayern could potentially sell Olise to another club, such as Real Madrid, and use the proceeds to fund an offer for Wirtz. For now, however, the swap remains speculation rather than an active transfer deal.

In short: Bayern are not currently preparing a move for Wirtz, but a future Wirtz–Olise deal has not been completely ruled out.
