Sweden’s team doctor has issued a worrying update on Dejan Kulusevski’s injury, raising fresh concerns about the Tottenham star’s recovery.

Tottenham supporters have been handed a worrying update on Dejan Kulusevski’s recovery, with Sweden’s national team doctor revealing that the midfielder is battling a difficult cartilage injury that has kept him out since May 2025.

Kulusevski had hoped to return in time for the 2026 World Cup, but after missing a full year of football, he was left out of Sweden’s squad. While the 26-year-old has resumed running on the pitch, doctors say the injury is located in a part of the knee that endures significant stress, making recovery especially challenging.

Despite concerns over how long the rehabilitation is taking, there remains hope that Kulusevski will eventually return to action. However, with no clear timeline for his comeback, Tottenham and Roberto De Zerbi may be forced to plan for next season without relying on the Swedish star.
