Marcus Rashford has reportedly ruled out a summer move to Tottenham Hotspur despite growing interest from the North London club. The Manchester United winger is said to be keen on remaining at Barcelona following his loan spell, while United are eager to secure a permanent exit.
Barcelona have the option to sign Rashford for £26 million, but reports suggest the Spanish champions are hoping to negotiate a lower fee. United, however, are unwilling to reduce their asking price or consider another loan arrangement.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly determined to remove Rashford’s £325,000-per-week salary from the club’s wage bill, with the 28-year-old not expected to play for United again.
Tottenham, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Bayern Munich have all been linked with the England international, but Rashford is reportedly not interested in moves to either Spurs or Newcastle.
Meanwhile, Manchester United legend Paul Scholes believes Arsenal would be the perfect destination, backing Mikel Arteta’s side to get the best out of Rashford and describing a move to the Premier League champions as ideal for both player and club.
