Michael Edwards is quietly shaping Liverpool’s future as the Reds move closer to another exciting signing
The FSG chief has faced growing questions over Liverpool’s long-term direction since returning to the club, especially after overseeing major spending last summer. While some of those signings are still adapting, there remains huge belief in the young talent brought to Anfield and the project being built behind the scenes.
Edwards was also expected to lead Liverpool into a multi-club model similar to Manchester City and Chelsea, but that idea appears to have slowed down recently, leading to further speculation over his long-term plans with the club beyond his current 2027 contract.
Despite the uncertainty, Edwards remains fully focused on strengthening Liverpool for both the present and the future.
Since his return, Liverpool have expanded their scouting network across the globe, targeting elite young talents from markets they rarely explored before. That strategy has already brought in players like Armin Pecsi, Ifeanyi Ndukwe, Mor Talla Ndiaye and Samuel Martinez, while Sidy Barhama Ndiaye is still expected to join once he turns 18.
Now, the Reds are accelerating efforts to sign highly-rated 16-year-old Kennet Eichhorn, continuing their push to assemble one of Europe’s most exciting young squads.
In just over a year, Edwards could end up securing elite prospects in goal, defence, midfield and attack, all while building a foundation capable of dominating European football for years to come.
While Richard Hughes focuses on improving the current squad, Edwards appears locked in on creating Liverpool’s next super team for the future.
