🚨 ALEXANDER ISAK INJURY CONFIRMED — LIVERPOOL FANS FACE NERVOUS WAIT AHEAD OF MAN CITY

🚨 LIVERPOOL CONFIRM ALEXANDER ISAK INJURY AHEAD OF MAN CITY CLASH

Liverpool have confirmed that Alexander Isak has returned to Merseyside after picking up a minor injury while on international duty with Sweden.

The striker featured in Sweden’s 2–1 victory over Romania and even found the back of the net, but he later reported a problem that has now forced him to withdraw from the national team.

Liverpool confirmed that Isak will miss Sweden’s remaining international fixtures and will instead be assessed by the club’s medical team at the AXA Training Centre.

Sweden manager Graham Potter described the issue as a small thigh problem, explaining that it became clearer in the days following the match. While the injury is not considered serious, Sweden decided not to risk the Liverpool forward during a busy run of fixtures.

The timing will nevertheless concern Liverpool, with Manchester City due to visit Anfield on Sunday, October 11.

Isak had made an impressive start to the campaign, scoring four Premier League goals in his first five matches, making his availability particularly important to Liverpool.

Liverpool will now hope the 27-year-old recovers quickly and is fit enough to return when club football resumes.
