Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool pursuing two major transfer deals simultaneously.

Liverpool’s pursuit of RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande continues to dominate headlines, but the highly-rated youngster is not the only wide attacker on the club’s radar.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Reds are also closely monitoring PSG star Bradley Barcola. Romano revealed that Liverpool remain in regular discussions about the French international and could intensify their interest in the coming weeks.

Liverpool are eager to strengthen their attacking options out wide this summer. After securing the signing of Victor Muñoz from Osasuna, the Merseyside club are still determined to add another elite winger before the transfer window shuts.

While Diomande remains a priority target, any deal for the Leipzig star is expected to be costly. Liverpool have already seen a €100 million offer rejected by the Bundesliga side. Barcola, meanwhile, could represent a more attainable alternative, especially as the 23-year-old is believed to be seeking more regular first-team football away from PSG.

Speaking on the Born ‘N Red podcast, Romano explained that Liverpool’s interest in both players remains active.

“I’m not saying it’s one or the other,” Romano said. “What I know is that Liverpool are maintaining contacts for both Diomande and Barcola.

“The situations are very different. Liverpool have already submitted an official offer for Diomande and are in talks with Leipzig and the player’s representatives. With Barcola, it’s more of an internal discussion at the club.

“Liverpool talk about Barcola every week. He’s a player they admire greatly and someone they wanted back in the summer of 2025, but a move wasn’t possible at the time. They really love him.”

Barcola has impressed both for PSG and the French national team, showcasing his quality on the biggest stages, including the Champions League. With 20 goal contributions last season, the talented winger has demonstrated the attributes needed to thrive in the Premier League and could prove to be an outstanding long-term addition for Liverpool if a deal materialises.
