Tottenham Hotspur remain active in the transfer market as they shift their focus towards strengthening their attack. After already spending more than £235 million this summer, Spurs are still expected to make further additions before the window closes.
A large portion of that investment has gone towards the arrivals of Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke, while Marcos Senesi joined on a free transfer to bolster the defence. With the midfield and backline now significantly reinforced, head coach Roberto De Zerbi is concentrating on adding more firepower in the final third.
The North London club are believed to be targeting a winger and could also bring in another striker. Ideally, De Zerbi would like to sign a versatile forward capable of operating both out wide and through the middle.
One player who continues to be linked with Spurs is Marcus Rashford. The Manchester United attacker has been heavily tipped to leave Old Trafford this summer, with United reportedly open to selling him for around £40 million as they look to reduce their wage bill.
According to reports from ASRomaLive, Tottenham have made the strongest approach for Rashford so far, despite competition from several clubs. However, the England international is said to favour joining a team competing in the Champions League, something Spurs cannot offer next season after missing out on European qualification.
Roma are also monitoring Rashford’s situation, while Napoli, Aston Villa and Newcastle United have all been credited with an interest. Turkish giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe are also reported to have held serious talks over a possible move.
Despite the growing interest, Rashford’s future remains undecided. With the forward currently focused on the World Cup, any transfer is expected to be delayed, raising the possibility that he could begin the new campaign as a Manchester United player.
Before the tournament, Rashford made it clear he had hoped to complete a transfer beforehand.

Rashford also enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Barcelona last season, registering 14 goals and 14 assists. Although the Spanish champions decided not to activate their option to buy, they could revisit their interest later in the window after strengthening other areas of their squad.
Any renewed move from Barcelona may depend on the future of Ferran Torres, who has also recently been linked with a switch to Tottenham.
