Tottenham are reportedly battling Aston Villa to sign a £42m-rated striker who finished second behind Harry Kane in the Bundesliga scoring charts last season.

Tottenham could be forced back into the market for a new striker this summer following Randal Kolo Muani’s departure and ongoing uncertainty surrounding Richarlison’s future. While Roberto De Zerbi is keen to keep Dominic Solanke as his main forward, Spurs are exploring options to strengthen their attack.

One player firmly on their radar is Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy, with Tottenham reportedly among five clubs interested in signing the prolific Guinea international. Aston Villa are also in the race, alongside Fenerbahce, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid.

Guirassy enjoyed an outstanding campaign, registering 22 goals and six assists, and has been the Bundesliga’s second-highest scorer over the last two seasons behind Harry Kane. Reports suggest Dortmund are open to his departure this summer.

Meanwhile, speculation linking the 30-year-old with Fenerbahce has been dismissed by his brother, Karamba Guirassy, who insists no agreement has been reached and that the striker is still weighing up his options for next season.
