According to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi has reached a full verbal agreement with Manchester City ahead of a potential big-money transfer.

Bouaddi, who had previously been linked with Liverpool, remains a player admired by several clubs. However, the Reds now appear to have stepped away from the race.
Reports suggest Lille could demand around £85 million or more for the Moroccan youngster, a fee that would make it difficult for Liverpool to pursue him while also targeting players such as Bradley Barcola and strengthening other positions before the transfer window closes.
Meanwhile, Trey Nyoni continues to make a strong case for a bigger role at Anfield. The 19-year-old impressed again in Liverpool’s pre-season defeat to Leeds United, playing a key part in Florian Wirtz’s goal with an excellent crossfield pass to Jeremie Frimpong, who then provided the assist.

Nyoni’s influence was even more noticeable after he was substituted at half-time, with Liverpool appearing less dominant in midfield during the second half.
Although Nyoni and Bouaddi are different types of midfielders, the youngster’s impressive pre-season performances could convince Andoni Iraola that Liverpool already have a promising in-house option. If Nyoni continues his development, he could save the club a significant transfer fee as they focus on strengthening several areas of the squad ahead of the new season.
