Liverpool Receive Double Injury Blow as Szoboszlai and Frimpong Face Time on the Sidelines

Liverpool secured a valuable 2–1 comeback victory over Brentford, but the result came at a cost as Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong both suffered injuries during the match.

The Reds had to work hard to claim all three points after falling behind in the first half. However, the injuries to two important players have raised fresh concerns about Liverpool’s squad depth and their upcoming fixtures.

Szoboszlai Suffers Injury Setback

Szoboszlai returned to Liverpool’s starting lineup after missing the previous two matches against Manchester City and LASK because of a hamstring problem.

Unfortunately, his return was short-lived. The Hungarian midfielder was forced off after approximately 30 minutes, with concerns that he had aggravated the same injury.

Following the match, Liverpool’s coach confirmed that the problem was not a new injury but that Szoboszlai might have returned before fully recovering.

The midfielder will reportedly need more time to recover, although a precise return date has not yet been confirmed.

Frimpong Also Faces Time Out

Frimpong’s situation provided another setback for Liverpool. The defender came on as a second-half substitute, hoping to help the team take advantage of Brentford’s reduced numbers.

However, he was forced off just seven minutes after entering the match.

Unlike Szoboszlai, Frimpong appears to have suffered a separate injury. The coach explained that the defender had experienced cramp during Liverpool’s previous match against LASK, but the latest problem raised further concerns.

Both players are expected to spend some time away from action, although the full extent of their injuries remains unclear.

Liverpool Celebrate Victory Despite Injury Concerns

Despite losing two players to injury, Liverpool managed to complete an impressive comeback against Brentford.

Keane Lewis-Potter gave the home side the lead before half-time. However, Brentford were reduced to ten men after Yehor Yarmoliuk was sent off for violent conduct.

Liverpool took advantage after the break, with Victor Muñoz equalising before Alexander Isak scored the winning goal.

Brentford eventually finished the match with nine players after Vitaly Janelt received a second yellow card in stoppage time.

The victory gave Liverpool three important Premier League points, but the injuries to Szoboszlai and Frimpong could complicate their preparations for upcoming matches.

What Happens Next?

Liverpool will be hoping both players recover as quickly as possible, particularly with their busy schedule continuing.

For now, supporters will have to wait for further medical updates to learn how long the pair could be unavailable.

The immediate concern is whether Liverpool can maintain their momentum while dealing with another potential injury crisis.
