Mac Allister, 27, previously revealed that he was disappointed after being told Liverpool were not ready to offer him a new deal. His current contract runs until 2028, and he had opportunities to leave during the summer but chose to stay at Anfield.
Since then, he has scored against Atlético Madrid in the Champions League and Tottenham in the Carabao Cup, reportedly strengthening Liverpool’s desire to revisit his contract situation.
However, there is an important caveat: no new contract has been officially agreed, and reports of reopened negotiations currently come from transfer sources. Mac Allister’s father and agent also said on September 17 that Liverpool had not contacted them about a renewal at that point, so the situation remains fluid.
