REAL MADRID AND BARCELONA MONITOR LIVERPOOL STAR FLORIAN WIRTZ AMID GROWING TRANSFER UNCERTAINTY!

Liverpool could face a difficult situation regarding Florian Wirtz, with Real Madrid and Barcelona reportedly keeping a close eye on the German international’s future at Anfield.

According to reports from Spain, both La Liga giants are monitoring the attacking midfielder, who has attracted interest from several of Europe’s biggest clubs following a challenging period in English football.

Chelsea and Bayern Munich are also reportedly interested in the 23-year-old, creating the possibility of a major transfer battle if Liverpool eventually consider allowing him to leave.

SPANISH GIANTS KEEP WATCH

Real Madrid and Barcelona are understood to be monitoring Wirtz’s situation as they assess potential opportunities to strengthen their attacking options.

Wirtz is highly regarded for his technical ability, creativity, vision and capacity to unlock opposition defences. Those qualities could make him an attractive signing for either Spanish club if an opportunity becomes available.

However, Liverpool are not currently looking to sell the midfielder. The club invested more than €100 million to sign him from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2025 and are unlikely to give up on such a significant investment without careful consideration.

Nevertheless, questions have emerged because Wirtz has not consistently produced the performances many expected since arriving in the Premier League.

CHELSEA AND BAYERN MUNICH ALSO INTERESTED

Real Madrid and Barcelona are not the only clubs reportedly monitoring the situation.

Chelsea could also enter the picture, particularly because their manager, Xabi Alonso, previously worked with Wirtz at Bayer Leverkusen.

The pair enjoyed considerable success in Germany, including winning the Bundesliga title in 2024. Their previous relationship could become an important factor if Chelsea decide to pursue the midfielder.

Bayern Munich, meanwhile, have admired Wirtz for some time and could explore another opportunity to bring the German playmaker back to his homeland.

With several major European clubs reportedly watching developments, Liverpool could face difficult questions if interest in the midfielder intensifies.

WIRTZ’S PERFORMANCES UNDER SCRUTINY

During his first season in England, Wirtz recorded five goals and eight assists. However, his early performances in the 2026/27 campaign have not completely silenced his critics.

The midfielder arrived at Liverpool with enormous expectations after establishing himself as one of Germany’s most exciting attacking talents at Bayer Leverkusen.

His reported market valuation has also declined, adding another dimension to discussions about his long-term future.

Despite the criticism, Wirtz remains an important player, and Liverpool still have considerable time to help him settle and reach his best level in English football.

LIVERPOOL STILL HOLD THE ADVANTAGE

Liverpool are not expected to make a decision about selling Wirtz simply because other clubs are interested.

The German international is under contract until June 2030, meaning the Merseyside club retain significant control over his future.

Furthermore, there have been no confirmed formal offers from the interested clubs. Reports of transfer interest should therefore not be mistaken for an agreement or an imminent departure.

For now, the biggest question is whether Wirtz can rediscover his best form at Anfield or whether one of Europe’s elite clubs will eventually make a serious attempt to sign him in 2027.

Liverpool supporters will hope the midfielder can prove his quality and justify the club’s substantial investment rather than become involved in transfer speculation.

LIVERPOOL FANS, WHAT SHOULD THE CLUB DO?

Should Liverpool continue backing Florian Wirtz and give him more time to establish himself, or should they consider selling him if Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea or Bayern Munich make a serious offer?
