Bayern Munich monitoring Florian Wirtz as Liverpool concerns grow

Bayern Munich are reportedly keeping a close eye on Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz amid concerns over his difficult start to life at Anfield.

Wirtz joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen for a reported £116m–£125m in 2025 after establishing himself as one of Europe’s brightest young talents. However, his performances in the Premier League have so far failed to consistently match the huge expectations surrounding his transfer.

The Germany international has made a slow start to the current campaign, recording no goals and one assist in his first four Premier League appearances. His performance in Liverpool’s recent draw with Fulham was also criticised, with Wirtz registering three shots, no successful dribbles and an 83% pass-completion rate.

Bayern reportedly remain admirers of Wirtz and could consider a move if Liverpool eventually decide that the player is available. A return to Germany could potentially help the 23-year-old rediscover the form he showed at Leverkusen.

For now, however, there is no indication that Liverpool have decided to sell him. The expectation is that Wirtz will be given more time to adapt and prove himself at Anfield.

Liverpool fans will be hoping Wirtz can turn his form around quickly and show why the club invested so heavily in him.
