Real Madrid’s recent signing of Denzel Dumfries has cast uncertainty over Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future, with concerns he could see less game time or even leave the Spanish giants sooner than expected.
Could Liverpool bring him back?
Liverpool’s search for a reliable right-back has become more pressing as Conor Bradley continues his recovery, while Jeremie Frimpong, despite his attacking threat, does not offer the same vision, passing ability and creativity that Alexander-Arnold brings.

A return to Anfield would make plenty of footballing sense. The England international already knows the club, the Premier League and the demands of playing for Liverpool, meaning he could make an immediate impact. His exceptional passing range and ability to break down stubborn defences would also add another attacking weapon.
Even so, completing such a deal would be far from straightforward. Real Madrid are unlikely to let him leave cheaply, and a section of Liverpool supporters still feel disappointed by the manner of his departure.

Dumfries’ arrival could encourage Madrid to consider offers if Alexander-Arnold’s role becomes limited, but Liverpool would likely face competition from other clubs if he became available.
For now, the Reds may choose to monitor developments. If the financial terms become realistic and Alexander-Arnold is eager to repair his bond with the club, an emotional return to Anfield could end up being a positive outcome for everyone involved.
