Tottenham Hotspur are stepping up their pursuit of Savinho, with The Times reporting that the north London club are working on a deal that could eventually exceed £60 million, as the Manchester City winger pushes for a move away.
Spurs have admired the Brazilian for some time and previously explored a move, but City’s £67 million valuation proved too steep. Negotiations have now resumed, with both clubs attempting to reach an agreement that works for all parties.
Although the initial fee is expected to be around £60 million, the overall package could increase through performance-related add-ons. Tottenham have already shown a willingness to spend heavily this summer, making another major investment a realistic possibility.
Savinho has reportedly informed Manchester City that he wants to leave after struggling to establish himself as a regular starter under former boss Pep Guardiola. Despite being highly rated by Guardiola, the 22-year-old found opportunities limited in City’s star-studded squad.
The Brazilian remains under contract until 2029, leaving City in a strong position during negotiations. He joined the Premier League champions from French club Troyes in a £34 million deal in 2024 after impressing during a successful loan spell at Girona, with both clubs belonging to the City Football Group.
Last season, Savinho showed glimpses of his quality but started only seven of his 24 Premier League appearances. Across all competitions, he registered four goals and three assists in 36 matches.
Tottenham view Savinho’s ability to play across the front line as a perfect fit for Roberto De Zerbi’s plans, and the player is said to be eager to complete the switch to North London.
Spurs have already enjoyed a busy transfer window, strengthening their squad with the arrivals of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali in deals worth a combined £177.5 million. Defensive reinforcements Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, Andrew Robertson, and goalkeeper Martin Dubravka have also arrived as part of the club’s ambitious rebuild.
