Liverpool Step Up Pursuit of New Winger as Cody Gakpo Nears Exit

Liverpool Confident of Landing Haissem Hassan as Next Winger Signing

Liverpool have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Real Oviedo winger Haissem Hassan and are increasingly optimistic about securing the Egyptian international this summer.

The Reds have already strengthened their wide options by signing Spain international Victor Muñoz from Osasuna, but their search for attacking reinforcements is far from over. With Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konaté all departing on free transfers, and uncertainty surrounding the futures of Cody Gakpo, Alexis Mac Allister and Alisson, Liverpool remain active in the market.

Bradley Barcola is still viewed as one of the club’s top targets. Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that the PSG winger is no longer considered “untouchable,” with both Liverpool and Arsenal monitoring his situation. Contract talks between Barcola and PSG have stalled, opening the door for potential offers, although the French champions are expected to demand a significant transfer fee.

Alongside their interest in Barcola, Liverpool have now opened negotiations with Real Oviedo for Hassan, according to reports from Spain. The 24-year-old has impressed with his recent performances, boosting his reputation, and Liverpool are believed to be confident of agreeing a deal for less than his €12 million (£10.2m) release clause, especially after Oviedo’s relegation to the second tier.

The report also suggests Hassan is viewed as part of Liverpool’s attacking rebuild following the expected exits of Cody Gakpo and Federico Chiesa, as well as Salah’s departure. Oviedo must now decide whether to accept a lower bid or hold out for a club willing to trigger Hassan’s full release clause before the transfer window closes.
