Tottenham receive major Rafa Leao transfer boost as €60m star open to Premier League switch
Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a significant boost in their pursuit of Rafael Leao, with the Portuguese forward reportedly ready to approve a move to north London if the club submits a formal offer.
The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with the Premier League in recent weeks, while new AC Milan manager Ruben Amorim is said to be willing to sanction his departure this summer. After impressing in Italy and starring for Portugal at the World Cup, Leao is now expected to resolve his future following his nation’s exit from the tournament.
According to Italian journalist Daniele Longo, the winger’s preferred destination is the Premier League, and Tottenham are firmly in the picture. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Longo claimed Leao is prepared to wait for Spurs and would happily accept a move if they table an offer worth around €60 million (£51m).
Leao’s reported willingness to join is a major encouragement for Tottenham, who are looking to strengthen their attack. His versatility, pace, creativity and eye for goal would make him an ideal addition to Roberto De Zerbi’s frontline, with the ability to operate anywhere across the front three.
A move to England would also give Leao the chance to test himself in one of the world’s most competitive leagues after successful spells in France and Italy. His blend of athleticism and technical quality suggests he has the tools to thrive in the Premier League.
That said, Milan’s reported £51 million valuation could prove a sticking point. While Leao remains one of Europe’s most talented attackers, his return of 10 goals last season may leave Tottenham hoping to negotiate a lower fee before pushing ahead with a deal.
