Liverpool’s £171M Double Transfer Move for Bradley Barcola Still Alive as Fabrizio Romano Confirms Deal Remains Possible

Liverpool’s interest in Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola remains active, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano indicating that a potential move to Anfield has not been ruled out.

The France international continues to be a major target for Liverpool as the club looks to add more quality and pace to its attacking options. Although negotiations have not reached an agreement, the situation remains open and Liverpool are still considering whether to make another push for the player.

Barcola is highly regarded by Liverpool and has reportedly been on the club’s radar for some time. However, PSG’s valuation remains a major obstacle, with the French champions demanding a substantial fee for the winger.

Liverpool’s interest is also connected to another PSG attacker, Ibrahim Mbaye. Reports suggest the Reds have explored the possibility of signing both players, but doing so could require an enormous financial commitment. The combined valuation of Barcola and Mbaye has been reported at around €200 million, equivalent to approximately £171 million.

That figure is believed to be significantly higher than Liverpool would ideally like to spend, meaning the club must decide whether the potential double deal represents good value.

The situation could also be influenced by Cody Gakpo’s future. Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in the Liverpool forward, and a potential departure could create space for the Reds to strengthen their attack with one or more new wingers.

Liverpool are therefore carefully weighing their options. While Barcola remains a genuine possibility, the club is not expected to blindly meet PSG’s asking price. Negotiations and the availability of alternative targets could determine whether the Reds eventually make a major move for the French winger.

For now, the important takeaway is that the Barcola transfer is still alive. Liverpool have not abandoned their pursuit, but a deal is far from guaranteed, particularly because of PSG’s huge valuation and the potential cost of bringing in more than one attacker.

If Liverpool decide to push ahead, the Barcola situation could become one of the biggest transfer stories of the closing stages of the window.
