Federico Chiesa Could Leave Liverpool as Three Serie A Clubs Show Interesting

Federico Chiesa’s future at Liverpool is once again becoming a talking point, with reports suggesting that three Italian clubs are keeping an eye on his situation at Anfield.

The 28-year-old winger has struggled to establish himself since arriving at Liverpool from Juventus in 2024. Despite his reputation as a talented attacking player, Chiesa has found regular first-team opportunities difficult to come by during his time in England.

According to reports from Calciomercato, Chiesa is open to leaving Liverpool and could consider a return to Serie A during the January transfer window. Inter Milan, Atalanta and Lazio are reportedly among the clubs monitoring his situation.

A return to Italy could give Chiesa an opportunity to rebuild his form and regain the consistency he enjoyed earlier in his career. Before moving to Liverpool, he had established himself as an important player in Serie A and for the Italian national team.

Liverpool, meanwhile, appear to have limited space for him within their current attacking options. Chiesa has not featured for the Reds in the Premier League so far this season, continuing a pattern of limited involvement since his move to Anfield.

The situation could therefore become more serious when the January transfer window opens. While Inter, Atalanta and Lazio are reportedly interested, there have been no concrete negotiations at this stage.

Chiesa’s Liverpool statistics also highlight how difficult his spell at the club has been. He has made 50 appearances for the Reds and scored just five goals, leaving questions over whether his time at Anfield is approaching its conclusion.

It remains to be seen whether any of the interested Serie A clubs will make a formal approach. Much could also depend on Liverpool’s plans for their squad and how much they would demand for the Italian winger.

For now, a January departure is only a possibility rather than a completed or agreed transfer. However, if Chiesa continues to struggle for playing time, a return to Italy could become an increasingly realistic option.
