Liverpool linked with Antoine Semenyo and Jérémy Doku
The article reports that Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Manchester City wingers Antoine Semenyo and Jérémy Doku, with a possible move depending on developments surrounding Manchester City’s ongoing Premier League case.
The idea is that if City were eventually required to make significant player sales following any punishment, Liverpool could potentially explore the market for players who become available. There is currently no confirmed Liverpool bid or agreement for either player.
Semenyo is the more interesting Liverpool link. Liverpool were previously interested in the Ghana international before he moved to Manchester City. He also has an existing relationship with Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola, having worked under him at Bournemouth.
Iraola himself was appointed Liverpool head coach in June 2026 after leaving Bournemouth.
The report argues that a reunion could therefore be possible if Semenyo eventually became available. However, this remains a speculative transfer scenario, rather than evidence that Liverpool are actively negotiating a deal.
The situation with Doku is less straightforward. The article notes that Liverpool already have several left-sided attacking options, including Bradley Barcola, Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha and Victor Muñoz. Doku can also play on the right, but the report questions whether another predominantly left-sided winger would be a priority.
A major caveat is Manchester City’s legal case. The article says the Premier League had not yet officially announced a guilty verdict or punishment concerning the reported charges at the time it was published. Any eventual verdict could also be subject to an appeal, meaning the potential “fire sale” scenario is far from certain.
Bottom line: Liverpool are being linked with Semenyo and Doku, but the story is based on a potential future scenario. Semenyo has the stronger Liverpool connection because of his previous work with Iraola, while there is currently no confirmed transfer agreement for either player.
