🚨🔴 Liverpool Eye £70M Inter Milan Defender as Virgil van Dijk Successor… See more
Liverpool are reportedly keeping a close eye on Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni as the club continues to consider its long-term plans in defence.
The 27-year-old Italian defender has emerged as a potential option to eventually succeed Virgil van Dijk at Anfield. Bastoni has established himself as an important player for Inter and is regarded as one of the standout left-footed centre-backs in European football.
According to reports, Bastoni would be open to the possibility of moving to the Premier League, which could encourage Liverpool to explore the situation further. However, any potential deal would not come cheaply, with Inter Milan previously valuing the defender at around £70 million.
Liverpool have been planning for the future of their defensive department, and the club’s interest in Bastoni could become more significant depending on how the situation surrounding Van Dijk develops.
For now, there is no indication that Liverpool have reached an agreement with Inter or that a transfer is imminent. The Reds are understood to be monitoring Bastoni’s situation as they assess possible options for the years ahead.
