Expert reveals details of secret talks over a potential Olise–Wirtz swap deal
Christian Falk has addressed the possibility of Liverpool’s Florian Wirtz and Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise swapping clubs.
Olise has been in excellent form for Bayern, while Wirtz has struggled to consistently reproduce his best performances since arriving at Liverpool.
Before joining the Reds, Wirtz was heavily linked with Bayern after making a name for himself at Bayer Leverkusen. His current form has now sparked questions over what the future could hold.

However, Falk has clarified that the situation is more complicated than simply Wirtz and Olise exchanging clubs, explaining the latest details surrounding the reported transfer scenario.

Christian Falk has shed more light on the long-standing connection between Florian Wirtz and Bayern Munich, revealing that the German midfielder held two private meetings with the Bavarian giants before ultimately choosing Liverpool.
According to Falk, the first meeting took place in Munich, followed by another in Liverpool, where Arne Slot played a key role in convincing Wirtz to move to Anfield.
With that history between Wirtz and Bayern, Falk believes it is natural for speculation linking the player with a return to Germany to continue.
However, there appears to be nothing concrete between Wirtz and Bayern at present. Falk also reports that Bayern are keen to keep Michael Olise at the club for the long term, making any potential swap scenario far from straightforward.
He added that Bayern Munich are keen for Michael Olise to remain at the club for many years. However, Max Eberl has told him that Bayern want clarity from the French winger next summer over whether he is open to signing a new contract.
The reason is simple: Bayern do not want to risk losing Olise for nothing when his current deal runs until 2029.
For now, the club are hoping the former Crystal Palace star commits his future to Bayern. But if Olise decides against a new contract and becomes open to a transfer, Falk believes Florian Wirtz would naturally emerge as an appealing option for the German giants.
Wirtz’s versatility could make him particularly attractive, as the Liverpool star is capable of operating both centrally and out wide.
He added that a potential deal involving Olise and Wirtz would be an intriguing possibility. If Bayern were to agree a swap with Liverpool or sell Olise to a club such as Real Madrid for a significant fee, they could then use the funds to make an offer for Wirtz.
However, there are still several factors that would need to be discussed before such a move could become realistic. Falk therefore believes it would be wrong to dismiss the idea of Bayern considering Wirtz as a potential target.

Wirtz has yet to consistently reach his best level since joining Liverpool, although there have been encouraging signs that the 23-year-old could be starting to find his rhythm this season.
