Liverpool Could See Two Senior Players Leave in Major Squad Reshuffle
Liverpool could be preparing for significant changes to their squad, with Federico Chiesa and Wataru Endo both reportedly facing uncertain futures at Anfield beyond the current season.
Neither player has become a regular starter under manager Andoni Iraola, and the Reds appear to be continuing their plans to reshape the squad by moving away from some of their more experienced fringe players.
Chiesa and Endo Could Depart Next Year

Reports suggest that both Chiesa and Endo are increasingly likely to leave Liverpool in 2027.
Endo’s situation appears to be the more straightforward of the two. The 33-year-old midfielder has slipped down the pecking order and has had limited opportunities this season. With his contract set to expire in 2027, Liverpool could consider selling him in January rather than allowing him to leave for free later.
Chiesa’s future is less clear-cut. Although the Italian winger has shown moments of his quality and remains popular among many Liverpool supporters, he has struggled to secure consistent starts.
Several clubs in Italy have continued to show interest in bringing Chiesa back to Serie A, with AC Milan among the teams previously linked with him.
Liverpool’s wider transfer plans also suggest that further changes could be on the way. The club are reportedly looking at possible midfield additions for 2027, while several attacking players have also been mentioned as potential transfer targets.
Why a Double Exit Could Make Sense
From Liverpool’s point of view, allowing both players to move on could be a sensible decision.
Endo has been a dependable squad member and has contributed whenever called upon, but Liverpool appear to be building a younger and more energetic midfield. At this stage of his career, it seems unlikely that his role in the team will increase.
Chiesa presents a different situation. The Italian still has plenty of ability and experience to offer, but he may need regular playing time to get the best out of his career. Staying at Liverpool as a rotational option may eventually become less appealing for both the player and the club.
There could also be financial benefits to selling the pair before their market value drops further. Any money raised could help Liverpool invest in younger players who better fit Iraola’s long-term plans.
A departure for either player would not necessarily mean their time at Liverpool had been unsuccessful. Squad rebuilding often requires difficult decisions, especially when players are no longer guaranteed regular minutes.
With Liverpool continuing to evolve, Chiesa and Endo could both find their opportunities increasingly limited, making a double exit in the near future a realistic possibility.
