Liverpool are edging closer to completing their first signing of the summer as the club looks to bring a familiar face back to Anfield ahead of a new chapter under incoming manager Andoni Iraola.
The Reds have reportedly entered advanced discussions to sign Blackburn Rovers midfielder Patrik Farkas, whose contract expires at the end of June. Negotiations are understood to be progressing well, with Liverpool hoping to finalize a two-year agreement for the Hungarian youngster.
Farkas previously spent two years in Liverpool’s academy before leaving four years ago. A return now appears increasingly likely, with the 19-year-old set to reunite with his younger brother Erik, who has impressed within the club’s youth ranks this season.
The move would see Farkas join a growing Hungarian contingent at Anfield, alongside Dominik Szoboszlai, Milos Kerkez, Armin Pecsi, and his brother Erik.
While Liverpool continue to invest in emerging talent, the club is also expected to strengthen its senior squad following a disappointing 2025/26 campaign. Despite securing Champions League qualification with a fifth-place Premier League finish, the Reds are determined to provide Iraola with the reinforcements needed to lead a successful rebuild.
