Tottenham receive major £80m Eli Junior Kroupi transfer blow as rivals enter the race

Tottenham could be heading for a major January transfer battle over Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi, with Arsenal now emerging as another serious club to watch.

Kroupi was reportedly high on Tottenham’s summer wishlist, and Spurs were said to be extremely close to making a move before the youngster suffered a broken foot. Reports claimed Tottenham were preparing an offer worth more than £80 million, but the injury brought those plans to a halt.

The door could reopen in January, with Spurs potentially ready to revisit the deal once Kroupi is back and available. However, Tottenham may no longer have the race to themselves.

Arsenal have reportedly been interested in Kroupi since the summer and could consider making a move of their own. Their interest has also been backed by Football.London’s Tom Canton, who indicated that the French striker remains a player worth monitoring for the Gunners.

Bournemouth are reportedly valuing Kroupi at around £80 million, meaning any January approach could require a huge financial commitment. Tottenham have already invested heavily in their squad, while Arsenal could also be looking for attacking reinforcements.

The biggest complication, however, could be Bournemouth themselves. The Cherries may be reluctant to lose one of their important attacking players halfway through the season, potentially forcing Tottenham and Arsenal to wait until the summer.

For now, Kroupi’s future remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: if Tottenham return for him in January, they could have Arsenal to contend with.
