ALEXANDER ISAK BREAKS THE DEADLOCK FOR LIVERPOOL — AND TWO TEAMMATES MADE IT POSSIBLE!

Liverpool finally broke through against Bournemouth as Alexander Isak fired the Reds into a 1–0 lead in the 57th minute.

The first half had been frustrating for Liverpool, with Bournemouth defending in an organised manner and limiting the visitors’ clear chances. Liverpool struggled to turn possession into genuine opportunities in the final third.

But after the break, Liverpool increased the tempo and began putting more pressure on the Bournemouth defence.

The breakthrough came after Cody Gakpo produced an excellent run down the right. Gakpo beat his marker and created enough space to deliver a dangerous ball into the penalty area.

Florian Wirtz got the first touch on the cross while under pressure, with the ball ultimately falling perfectly into Isak’s path.

The Swedish striker made no mistake.

Isak calmly finished from inside the box, sending the ball beyond the goalkeeper to give Liverpool the lead. It was his fourth Premier League goal of the 2026/27 season. (sallahsport.com)

The goal was not just about Isak’s finishing. Gakpo’s run and delivery created the opportunity, while Wirtz’s touch helped redirect the ball into Isak’s path.

Liverpool eventually held on to win 1–0, with Isak’s goal proving decisive. Reuters also reported that Liverpool managed only six shots on goal, underlining how difficult the attacking performance had been despite securing all three points. (Reuters)

Isak delivers when Liverpool need him most!
