Dominik Szoboszlai has officially committed his long-term future to Liverpool after signing a new five-year contract, reportedly worth around £300,000 per week. News of an agreement in principle emerged on Thursday, with many fans expecting the formal announcement to take a little longer. However, reports on Friday confirmed the Hungarian midfielder had already signed the deal.
According to multiple reliable journalists and outlets, the new agreement will keep Szoboszlai at Anfield until 2031, when he will be 30 years old. Liverpool had been in discussions with the player’s representatives since earlier this year, aiming to reward his impressive development following his £60 million move from RB Leipzig three years ago. After negotiations resumed in recent weeks, the midfielder, who still had two years remaining on his previous contract, agreed improved terms.
The renewal comes as a major boost for Liverpool amid long-standing interest from Real Madrid. The Spanish giants had admired Szoboszlai since his RB Leipzig days, and their pursuit reportedly intensified after his outstanding 2025/26 campaign, during which he contributed 25 goals and assists while featuring in midfield and at right-back.
