HUGO EKITIKE DELIVERS POSITIVE INJURY UPDATE AS LIVERPOOL AWAIT HIS RETURN

Liverpool have received encouraging news regarding Hugo Ekitike as the French striker continues his recovery from a serious Achilles tendon injury.

The 24-year-old has been sidelined since rupturing his Achilles during Liverpool’s Champions League quarter-final clash against Paris Saint-Germain in April, forcing him to miss the remainder of the season and the 2026 World Cup.

According to recent reports, Ekitike is making progress in his rehabilitation and is working hard to return to action as soon as possible.

Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola recently confirmed that the striker is progressing well, although he remains slightly behind Conor Bradley in the recovery process.

“They are both doing very well. I think they are in a good place,” Iraola said.

“Hugo is a little bit behind that, but that was always the plan. He is still doing very well according to the plan.”

Ekitike reportedly hopes to return to competitive action in December, although January 2027 remains a more realistic target, depending on his recovery.

Liverpool will be eager to welcome the French forward back, particularly as they continue to manage fitness concerns among their attacking options.

For now, the priority is ensuring Ekitike makes a full recovery without rushing his comeback.

Liverpool supporters will be hoping their striker can return stronger and make a significant impact in the second half of the campaign.
