Dele Alli trains with Barnet as he looks to revive his career

Former England and Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has given another indication that he is determined to continue his football career after sharing footage of himself training with Barnet.

The 30-year-old posted a video showing him taking part in a training session with the League Two club. The appearance comes after a difficult period in his career, during which he struggled for regular football and was eventually released by Como.

Alli’s career has taken a very different direction from the one many expected when he burst onto the scene with Tottenham. He became one of the Premier League’s most exciting young midfielders and earned England caps, but injuries, loss of form and limited playing opportunities have disrupted his progress.

His time at Everton and later Besiktas and Como failed to provide the consistent run of football he needed. Now, training with Barnet could provide him with an opportunity to regain fitness and demonstrate that he can still contribute at a professional level.

Importantly, the training session does not necessarily mean Alli has signed for Barnet. The footage shows him training with the club, but any permanent move or contract would depend on what happens next.

For Alli, the immediate objective appears to be getting back into regular training and competitive football. His latest move has therefore attracted attention because fans are waiting to see whether he can rebuild his career and return to the level that once made him one of England’s most talked-about young players.
