Liverpool are pushing ahead with plans to sign Real Oviedo winger Haissem Hassan, with reports claiming the Reds are increasingly confident of completing a deal.
After a disappointing campaign that ended with a fifth-place Premier League finish, Liverpool parted ways with Arne Slot despite his title-winning success the previous season. The club has since begun a major squad overhaul following the departures of Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konaté, while Cody Gakpo, Alexis Mac Allister and Alisson have all been linked with exits.
The Reds have already strengthened their attack by signing Spanish winger Victor Muñoz from Osasuna in a deal worth around €40 million, but they are not stopping there.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola remains one of Liverpool’s leading attacking targets. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that the French international is no longer considered “untouchable” at PSG, with both Liverpool and Arsenal monitoring his situation. However, any move would require a significant financial package, as PSG are expected to demand a huge fee while contract renewal talks remain at a standstill.
Alongside their interest in Barcola, Liverpool have now intensified their pursuit of Haissem Hassan. According to El Gol Digital, discussions with Real Oviedo are already underway, and the Premier League club believe they can secure the Egyptian winger for less than his €12 million (£10.2m) release clause. Oviedo’s relegation to Spain’s second tier is said to have strengthened Liverpool’s negotiating position.
The report also claims Hassan is viewed as part of Liverpool’s attacking rebuild following the expected departures of Cody Gakpo and Federico Chiesa, as well as Salah’s exit. Real Oviedo must now decide whether to accept a lower offer or hold out for a club willing to trigger Hassan’s full release clause before the transfer window closes.
