Tottenham are expected to turn their attention to strengthening their attack after completing several major signings in defence and midfield during the summer transfer window.
Spurs have already secured five new arrivals, with a sixth deal awaiting official confirmation, highlighting the club’s ambitious rebuild under new head coach Roberto De Zerbi. Following back-to-back 17th-place Premier League finishes, the club has made a strong statement by investing heavily in both transfer fees and player wages.
The North London side recently broke their transfer record by signing Mateus Fernandes from West Ham for £85 million. That record is set to be surpassed almost immediately, with Sandro Tonali’s move from Newcastle agreed at an initial £92.5 million, potentially rising to £100 million with add-ons. Defensive reinforcements Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and goalkeeper Martin Dubravka have also joined.
With questions surrounding Richarlison’s future and several attackers sidelined through long-term injuries, Tottenham are now expected to prioritise their frontline.
One player firmly on Spurs’ radar is Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi, who enjoyed a sensational breakthrough campaign. The 20-year-old set a new record for the most Premier League goals scored by a teenager, surpassing marks previously held by Robbie Fowler and Robbie Keane.
Bournemouth are reportedly demanding £80 million for the highly rated forward, but Tottenham are believed to be confident of striking a deal. Kroupi, who has been labelled “world-class” by analytics outlet Squawka, is also said to be open to a move to North London.
However, Spurs face fierce competition, with several Premier League clubs monitoring the striker alongside UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.
Speaking on the Talking Tottenham podcast, Alasdair Gold confirmed Tottenham’s interest but stressed that Bournemouth remain determined to keep hold of their prized asset.
> “There’s interest, of course, but everyone is interested. He’s one of the Premier League’s brightest young stars and everyone wants him.
> “This new Tottenham have shown they’re willing to compete for players even when there’s strong competition.
> “I’m hearing Bournemouth have no intention of selling, but we’ll see if that changes as the window progresses.
> “I’m also curious to see whether Spurs target proven, top-level players rather than just promising talents because, in those situations, you’re competing with half of Europe.”
