Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping tabs on a Premier League striker as they continue shaping Roberto De Zerbi’s squad ahead of the new season, according to TeamTalk.
Having already strengthened their defence with three new signings, Spurs are now turning their attention to other key areas of the team. Midfield remains a priority, with Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes viewed as ideal targets, while reinforcements in attack are also under consideration.
The North London club have been linked with wide players such as Cody Gakpo and Savinho, but they are also exploring options for a more traditional centre-forward.
One name attracting attention is Sunderland and Netherlands striker Brian Brobbey. TeamTalk claims Tottenham have followed the 24-year-old for some time, dating back to before his move to Sunderland, and their interest remains strong.
Brobbey, once described as “an absolute freak of a number nine,” is also believed to be admired by Manchester United, Chelsea, and Aston Villa. Despite scoring seven goals in 31 appearances last season, his recent performances have continued to catch the eye.
Sunderland are not actively looking to sell the Dutch international, who remains under contract until 2029, and no asking price has been established. However, a significant offer could test the club’s determination to keep him.
The striker has enhanced his reputation at the World Cup, where he scored twice against Sweden after being handed his first tournament start by Ronald Koeman. His powerful display highlighted the physical presence, work rate, and attacking qualities that many believe Tottenham currently lack.
Since Harry Kane’s departure, Spurs have struggled to find a dominant focal point in attack. Dominic Solanke has yet to fully establish himself due to injuries and inconsistent form, while Richarlison has often failed to provide the reliable hold-up play and link-up ability De Zerbi is expected to demand.
As a result, a move for a striker with Brobbey’s profile could make sense. While he remains a player with room for development, his performances over the past year suggest he possesses the attributes to offer Tottenham a different dimension in the final third.
Whether he is the ideal solution remains uncertain, but there is little doubt he would bring qualities that have been missing from Spurs’ attack in recent seasons.
