Bournemouth open talks to sign highly-rated Tottenham star amid reports the player wants to leave Spurs.

Bournemouth have reportedly opened discussions to sign Tottenham forward Mathys Tel, with the player said to be keen on leaving Spurs during the summer transfer window.

Following Tottenham’s failure to secure European football, several players could consider moves away from North London as the club faces a challenging summer rebuild. Without the attraction of European competition, Spurs may find it harder to retain key talent while also strengthening the squad.

According to journalist Joao Van Boysen, Bournemouth are among the clubs pursuing Tel, with a loan deal that includes an option to buy emerging as the most likely outcome. Portuguese giants FC Porto are also believed to be strongly interested in the French attacker.

Tel only joined Tottenham on a permanent basis last summer, but speculation over his future has already intensified. Despite limited opportunities, the young forward showed encouraging signs, particularly after the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi, and many supporters believe Spurs should keep hold of him rather than sanction a temporary departure.

With several departures expected this summer, retaining promising young players like Tel could be crucial as Tottenham look to rebuild and improve ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
