No foul play suspected in case of missing NMB duck hunter, Tyler Doyle: SCDNR
HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — The South Carolina Dept. of Natural Resources (SCDNR) said no foul play is suspected in the case of missing North Myrtle beach duck hunter, Tyler Doyle.
SCDNR said in a release Monday that the rumors regarding pending criminal charges against Doyle are unfounded and the search remains ongoing.
Doyle and a friend were duck hunting around 4 p.m. on Jan. 26 on a 16-foot jon boat at the Little River jetties., the agency reported. The jetties are rock structures near the state line that extend from shore out into Little River Inlet and help boats navigate the swirling tides and currents.
SCDNR said a small-craft advisory was in effect that afternoon to warn boaters that the water was rough and not conducive for smaller boats.
Doyle reportedly dropped the friend off on the north jetty and went on the boat to put out some duck decoys, and the two stayed in contact on the phone.
The agency said the friend lost sight of Tyler as he went around the south jetty.
