Ole was confirmed to have left Manchester United earlier today.
This was following the club’s four-one defeat yesterday at Watford.
In a statement, the club said: “It is with regret that we have reached this difficult decision.
“While the past few weeks have been disappointing, they should not obscure all the work he has done over the past three years to rebuild the foundations for long-term success.
“Ole leaves with our sincerest thanks for his tireless efforts as manager and our very best wishes for the future.”
Rachel also posted late last night when rumours began to emerge about his exit.
She shared a tweet admitting she was “sad” if they turned out to be true.
The presenter penned: “Love Ole, the man and my favourite player growing up.
“Sad if true, especially now we’re a club a carousel of managers in and out every five minutes… clearly we’ve got bigger issues underlying.
Several of Rachel’s followers weighed in following her farewell post this morning.
@RedArmyPaul99 penned: “Well said. A very sad day. He had to go but nevertheless still gutted it didn’t work out for him.”
@demich247 added: “Still a United legend in my eyes, torn emotions today, #GoodbyeOle.”
@garyshawxx wrote: “A real gent who will be devastated that he has lost his dream job.”
Rachel has never made any secret of her love for Man Utd.
