TYSON FURY VS ANTHONY JOSHUA FIGHT GETS MAJOR VENUE UPDATE AS CARDIFF EMERGES AS FAVOURITE

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua Fight Could Be Heading Back To The UK

The highly anticipated heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua could reportedly be heading to the United Kingdom, following a major development in the long-running disagreement over where the fight should take place.

The proposed Battle of Britain showdown is expected to happen on November 28, and Cardiff’s Principality Stadium has now emerged as a strong possibility.

According to boxing journalist Dan Rafael, sources close to the situation believe there is a good chance the fight will be staged at the 80,000-capacity stadium in Wales.

The location has been a major issue during negotiations. Joshua’s team and promoter Eddie Hearn had been pushing for the fight to take place in Britain, with Wembley Stadium previously viewed as their preferred venue. However, Netflix and Turki Alalshikh had reportedly been more interested in taking the event to New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Principality Stadium Now A Strong Possibility

For much of the negotiations, New York appeared to be the preferred destination for the fight. Frank Warren, who promotes Fury, had even given Joshua’s camp a deadline to agree to a United States venue.

However, discussions appear to have progressed in recent days.

Rafael reported that people involved in the negotiations now believe Cardiff’s Principality Stadium could host Fury and Joshua on November 28.

There also appears to have been a significant change in Netflix’s position. The streaming company had previously favoured New York, but sources reportedly believe it is now prepared to accept the fight being moved to the UK.

That development could be crucial in allowing the venue dispute to finally be resolved.

Principality Stadium, formerly known as the Millennium Stadium, can accommodate around 80,000 spectators. Another advantage is its retractable roof, which would provide protection against poor weather during the event.

Fury Becomes Frustrated With The Situation

The uncertainty surrounding the venue has also created tension between the two heavyweight stars.

Fury recently expressed his frustration publicly, questioning why the final arrangements had taken so long and appearing to blame Joshua for the delay.

The former heavyweight champion said he had been willing to fight in every location that had been suggested, including England, Ireland, Las Vegas and New York.

Fury insisted that he had not placed conditions on where the fight should happen and claimed he felt Joshua was reluctant to make the contest happen.

He also challenged Joshua to finally agree to the fight, pointing out that both fighters are now in their late 30s and suggesting that there should be no reason for further delays.

Despite the heated comments, the latest developments suggest the venue issue could finally be close to being resolved.

If the reports prove accurate, Fury and Joshua could meet at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on November 28 for one of the biggest all-British heavyweight fights in recent years.
