Liverpool Receive Double Injury Boost as Szoboszlai and Munoz Near Returns Ahead of Arsenal Clash

Liverpool have received encouraging injury news ahead of their blockbuster Premier League meeting with Arsenal, with Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz both given a chance of returning to action.
The Reds are preparing for Sunday’s showdown at Anfield, knowing that a victory could be extremely important for their ambitions of challenging near the top of the Premier League table.
Head coach Andoni Iraola has provided a positive update on the fitness of the two players, although he has stopped short of confirming whether either will be included in the matchday squad.
Szoboszlai closing in on a comeback
Dominik Szoboszlai has been struggling with a hamstring problem that has affected his availability over recent weeks.
The Hungarian midfielder suffered the initial injury while representing his country during the international break.
After returning to Liverpool’s starting lineup against Brentford, he was forced off after just 32 minutes when the problem resurfaced.
He has subsequently missed several important fixtures, including matches against Villarreal, Brighton and Chelsea.
His possible return would be a major boost for Liverpool because of his energy, creativity, pressing ability and influence in midfield.
Victor Munoz also has a chance
Victor Munoz is another player Liverpool could welcome back against Arsenal.
The Spanish winger picked up a knee problem during the match against Brentford and has been unavailable for the club’s subsequent fixtures.
Although the injury was not considered serious, Liverpool have been careful with his recovery rather than rushing him back too early.
His return would provide Iraola with another attacking option, particularly as Liverpool prepare for a demanding run of fixtures.
Iraola delivers positive injury update
Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Iraola confirmed that both players still had a possibility of featuring against Arsenal.
He said:
“I think they have a chance. But I don’t know for sure if they will be involved or not. We still have two days so I think we have a chance, yes.”
The Liverpool manager’s comments will encourage supporters, although their final availability depends on their recovery and fitness assessments.
Liverpool preparing for a difficult Arsenal test
Liverpool enter the contest after an impressive run of results, including their Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea on penalties.
The Reds have won five consecutive matches across all competitions and will be hoping to extend that run against the reigning Premier League champions.
Arsenal, however, will provide a serious test, with Mikel Arteta’s side possessing the quality and experience to make life difficult at Anfield.
Liverpool will need their strongest possible squad if they are to secure all three points.
Other Liverpool injury concerns
While Szoboszlai and Munoz could return, Liverpool still have several players unavailable.
Jeremie Frimpong, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni and Hugo Ekitike remain among the club’s injury concerns.
Florian Wirtz, meanwhile, recovered from an ankle issue and featured against Chelsea.
